From October 10, the second construction phase of the project will begin, which aims to improve accessibility for all citizens. The area that is now being redesigned extends from the Lower Gate to the Schlörplatz and will be equipped with new, modern granite paving.

An approximately three meter wide strip of the new paving will be laid over the next six weeks. This material was selected by the Building and Planning Committee to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. In addition to the paving, empty pipes will also be installed, which will later be used to improve the power grid in the city center. These measures are part of a comprehensive plan to modernize and improve infrastructure.

Traffic regulations during construction work

During construction work, the Lower Gate will be completely closed to vehicle traffic. This means that drivers will have to use alternative access routes to the city center. The city administration has announced that despite the construction work, pedestrian traffic will continue to be possible with certain restrictions. Those responsible are aware of the inconvenience and are doing everything they can to keep the disruption to residents and visitors as low as possible.
