The 2024 folk festival in Weiden is just around the corner and the anticipation is already palpable. From September 12th to 16th, the festival site on Conrad-Röntgen-Straße will be the scene of a colorful hustle and bustle. The city has put together a varied program that offers both tradition and modern entertainment.
The festival begins on Thursday with a festive parade that starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Hammerweg School. After the parade there will be a salute in front of the marquee, followed by the traditional beer tapping, which will be carried out by Mayor Jens Meyer. A highlight for many visitors is the fireworks display on Friday evening, which will be lit around 9:30 p.m. and will light up the sky over Weiden.
Attractions and culinary delights
The festival offers a variety of attractions and rides that will delight both children and adults. A large consumer fair is also taking place in a separate exhibition tent, with numerous stands offering interesting offers. Physical well-being is also taken care of: visitors can look forward to a wide range of dishes, ranging from traditional pretzels and bratwurst rolls to international delicacies such as langos and burgers. The sweet stalls will not disappoint either and offer everything your heart desires.
