The city of Pfreimd is preparing for an exciting weekend, as the annual church fair will take place from September 28th to 30th, 2024. This event is an integral part of cultural life in Pfreimd and attracts numerous visitors. The city administration warmly invites everyone to take part in the celebrations and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
On Saturday, September 28th, the festival begins at 4 p.m. with the traditional setting up of the church tree on the market square. The Pfreimder town band will provide musical entertainment, while the Pfreimd Kirwa Association will ensure the physical well-being of the guests. In addition to the festive tree, there is also a carousel, a raffle and a shooting range that provide fun and excitement. From 8 p.m., the festival tent with “GrögötzWeißbir” becomes the center of the action, where visitors can party until late in the evening.
Diverse activities on Sunday
Sunday, September 29th, is all about the big fair, which transforms the market square into a colorful hustle and bustle. From 10 a.m. onwards, visitors can explore the Fieranten stands and enjoy the various attractions. There will also be a celebratory service in the town parish church at 10 a.m., which underlines the church aspect of the celebrations. The Pfreimden shops invite you to go shopping on this day, while the inns offer traditional fair specialties.
From 2 p.m. the Christmas tree on the market square will be danced off again, accompanied by the city band. Coffee and cake in the marquee provide the sweet moments of the afternoon. The MUSEUM PFREIMD opens its doors from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the special exhibition “TOY WORLDS”, which is particularly interesting for families. In the evening, the marquee will be warmed up with “Donnaweda” from 6 p.m., followed by a musical highlight: “voxxclub” will take the stage from 9:30 p.m. and create an exuberant atmosphere.
Closing of the church fair on Monday
Monday, September 30th, also offers visitors a varied program. In the afternoon, the market square becomes the setting for the fair again with a carousel and raffles. The 19th Pfreimder Kirwa competition will take place at 3 p.m., which will be accompanied by musical entertainment by the “Allerscheynst’n”. The inns are also open on this day and invite you to linger. The crowning finale is the Brodl finale in the festival tent from 8 p.m. with the “Stoapfälzer Spitzbuam”, who will ensure an unforgettable evening.
It is important to note that the market square is closed to vehicle traffic on Christmas Saturday, Sunday and Monday to ensure visitors have a safe and pleasant experience. The city of Pfreimd is looking forward to numerous guests and a successful celebration!
