Mobile collection point in Pfreimd: Safe disposal on September 5th!

The city administration has set up a mobile collection point to dispose of problematic waste from households. On Thursday, September 5, 2024, citizens can drop off their hazardous waste at two locations. The first station is at the Pfreimd construction yard from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., followed by another pickup point at the fire station in Untersteinbach from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This initiative aims to provide environmentally friendly disposal options for various hazardous substances. Among other things, citizens can donate up to 5 liters of used oil that results from a private oil change. Chemicals from home laboratories, such as fixing baths and acids, as well as various cleaning and care products are also accepted. The list of accepted materials is long and includes, among other things, batteries, brake and coolant fluids, paints and even fire extinguishers.

What is accepted and what is not?

The city has set clear guidelines about which waste is accepted. Accepted substances include:

  • Altöl (max. 5 l)
  • Abbeitzmittel
  • Autopflegemittel
  • Batterien
  • Brems- und Kühlflüssigkeit
  • Chemikalien (z.B. Säuren, Laugen)
  • Düngemittel (z.B. unbrauchbarer Blumendünger)
  • Lacke
  • Feuerlöscher
  • Kondensatoren
  • Lösungsmittel (z.B. Terpentin)
  • Leuchtstoff- und Energiesparlampen
  • Pflanzenschutzmittel
  • Reinigungs- und Pflegemittel

However, it is important to note that not all waste will be accepted. Used tires, household waste and commercial recyclables are excluded. Emulsion paints must be disposed of in the residual waste bin, while empty paint buckets should be taken to the recycling center.

When delivering waste, citizens should ensure that the materials are delivered in their original containers, if possible. If refilling is necessary, the transport containers must be well closed and labeled. A quantity limit of 20 liters applies to liquids, while used oil is limited to 5 liters.
