Tin toys in the Pfreimd Museum: A circus full of memories
A very special exhibition will open at the MUSEUM PFREIMD from September 29, 2024, which will make the hearts of toy lovers and nostalgics beat faster. The collector Gerhard Pretzl presents his impressive collection of tin toys, which focuses on the theme of fairs and circuses. This collection is not only a feast for the eyes, but also a journey into the past when children played with simple, mechanical toys.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of wind-up figures that depict animals in a playful way. You can watch elephants skillfully balancing with balls, monkeys bravely climbing ropes, and even crocodiles performing tricks in the ring. These characters bring back memories of a time when entertainment was driven not by screens but by children's imaginations.
Various additions to the exhibition
But that's not all! The exhibition is complemented by a variety of board games, cut-out sheets and nostalgic pop-ups made of paper and cardboard, all of which have a circus theme. These additional exhibits invite visitors to experience the colorful and lively world of tin toys even more intensively. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the colorful and imaginative world that many of us know from our childhood.
The exhibition is open from September 29th to November 10th, 2024. The doors are open to anyone interested every Thursday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A visit to the MUSEUM PFREIMD promises not only a visual delight, but also a nostalgic return to the carefree times of childhood.
