Together for peace: Remembrance Day 2024 in Oberviechtach

At a time when the world is characterized by conflicts and wars, the theme of Remembrance Day seems more relevant than ever. Current events continue to show how cruel war can be. Remembrance Day is a special day of remembrance in Germany for the victims of war and violence. This day should also serve as a warning and reminder of how precious a life in peace is.

Invitation to participate

On behalf of the city of Oberviechtach and the warrior associations Wildeppenried, Pullenried and Oberviechtach, a warm invitation is extended to the population. Everyone is invited to take part in the Remembrance Day celebrations. With their participation, citizens are sending a strong signal for peace and solidarity for all peace-loving people.

Course of the celebrations

The following process is planned:

Wildeppenried – Saturday, November 16, 2024
6.45 p.m. Church procession from the FF house to the church
7 p.m. service, followed by a ceremony at the war memorial

Pullenried – Sunday, November 17, 2024
7.45 a.m. Church procession from the Greber inn to the church
8 a.m. service, followed by a ceremony at the war memorial

Oberviechtach – Sunday, November 17, 2024
4.45 p.m. – Setting up the multi-purpose hall, followed by a church procession
5:00 p.m. - Liturgy of the Word in the town parish church, followed by a funeral procession to the memorial
