Nittenau welcomes new treasurer: Katrin Schminke takes over finances
Nittenau has a breath of fresh air in financial administration. Katrin Schminke, the new chamberlain, started her job on August 1, 2024 and brings a lot of experience with her. The 42-year-old, who originally comes from Lower Bavaria and now lives in Burglengenfeld, will take care of the city's financial matters.
After training as an administrative specialist with the city of Regensburg, Schminke completed employee training course II. Before she came to Nittenau, she worked in the Regensburg city administration, where she took care of the meeting service and local law matters. In this role, she was responsible for the preparation and follow-up of city council meetings, which gave her a deep understanding of local government operations.
New challenges and further training
Schminke decided to move to Nittenau because she was looking for new development opportunities. She not only wanted to expand her knowledge, but also to actively contribute to the positive development of the city. Through various training courses at the Bavarian Administrative School, she has already dealt intensively with the topics of finance and treasury. There are more seminars coming up in the fall that will give her additional insights into cameralistics, i.e. housekeeping.
“I’m looking forward to my new area of responsibility,” says Schminke. The first internal votes are currently underway for the 2025 budget, which will soon be presented to the city council. She receives support from First Mayor Benjamin Boml, Managing Director Marina Brückner and her dedicated team. Also an external consultant, Dr. Stephan Sauer is at your side during the induction phase.
To recover from the numbers, Schminke likes to spend her free time in nature. She and her husband have already explored the area around Nittenau, including a trip to Stockenfels Castle. These trips help her clear her head and recharge her batteries for her tasks.
