In Nabburg, Remembrance Day will be celebrated this year on Saturday, November 16, 2024. This memorial event has a long tradition and offers the community the opportunity to remember the city's fallen and missing. It is a day when citizens come together to show respect and gratitude.
The celebrations begin at 4:45 p.m. with the line-up for the church procession at Unterer Markt. A service will be held at 5 p.m. dedicated to the fallen of the parish and the city. After the service there is a funeral march to St. Nicholas Church, where the central funeral service takes place.
Funeral service program
The program for the funeral service is well thought out and includes several moving elements:
- Die Jugendblaskapelle eröffnet die Feier mit einem Choral.
- Der Bürgermeister wird eine Ansprache halten, in der er die Bedeutung des Gedenkens hervorhebt.
- Die Totenehrung beinhaltet ein Gebet, eine Kranzniederlegung und ein weiteres Musikstück der Jugendblaskapelle mit dem Titel „Ich hatt‘ einen Kameraden“.
- Die Feier wird mit der Bayernhymne und der Nationalhymne fortgesetzt.
- Zum Abschluss wird ein Schlusswort gesprochen.
The entire population as well as the relatives of the fallen and missing are cordially invited to take part in this important event. It is an opportunity to pause together and preserve the memory of those who gave their lives for the community.
