Young talents take off: successful holiday campaign in Burglengenfeld

The summer holiday campaign “Become a model pilot yourself” in Burglengenfeld has proven to be a big hit. In collaboration with the model building club Burglengenfeld e. V. children and young people were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of model flying. In mid-August the time had come: ten young aviation enthusiasts were able to gain their first experience as model pilots.

The event began with a short but important briefing by Gerhard Fischer, the first board member of the model building club, and his dedicated team. Here the participants learned everything about safety and how remote-controlled aircraft work. After this introduction, things really started: Equipped with their own remote controls, the young pilots took turns flying under the guidance of an experienced instructor pilot. The excitement and joy were clearly noticeable when the first flight attempts took off.

Impressive flight maneuvers and lots of fun

The members of the model building club then showed off their skills and impressed the young pilots with spectacular aerobatic maneuvers. They flew various models, including aerobatic aircraft, helicopters and gliders, and demonstrated loops, rolls and turns. A drone that accompanied the students created additional enthusiasm and was an exciting addition to the flight tests.

After an exciting day full of flights and fun, all participants received a well-deserved refreshment. The organizers offered refreshing drinks and delicious bratwurst rolls to round off the day on a fitting note. The event was not only educational, but also a great opportunity for the children to make new friends and share their enthusiasm for flying.

For everyone who is still interested in model flying, there is a tinkering with the model airplanes every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the VAZ Burglengenfeld. Anyone interested is welcome to stop by and take part. Further information is available on the association's homepage at info@mbc-bul.de.
