Wolfsegg: Local council approves construction projects and examines finances!
At the public meeting of the Wolfsegg municipal council on September 4, 2025 in the town hall, important decisions were made that affect both the local infrastructure and the municipality's finances. The chairman of the audit committee, Michael Wöhrl, reported on the local audit of the 2023 annual financial statements and the previous financial statements for 2024.
At the beginning, several resolutions from non-public meetings were announced. The expansion of the Wolfsegg primary school received the green light, with important specialist planning being awarded to various companies. It was decided unanimously to award the specialist planning for the outdoor facilities to the most economical bidder, as did the contracts for the construction work to established companies such as Mickan Generalbaugesellschaft and Holzbau Schuller. The master painter Spangler from Wolfsegg was also taken into account for the painting and ETICS work.
Financial audits and results
The local audit revealed some critical findings, which the local council noted. In the 2023 annual financial statements, the target income and expenses amount to exactly 5,311,226.50 euros, with the debts as of December 31, 2023 being 1,002,044.20 euros. For the year 2024, similar overruns were found in various budget estimates, and the target revenue for this year was 4,008,545.76 euros. Here too, a decision was made to take note.
In order to protect the municipality's finances, it was recommended to make better use of all advantages when paying bills in the future. These recommendations are based on the fact that the municipality's audit focuses on legality, regularity and efficiency, such as KGST explained.
Construction planning and vehicle maintenance
In other items on the agenda, the land use planning for the Lappersdorf market and for the municipality of Holzheim am Forst was confirmed without any objections being raised. This shows the close cooperation between the communities in the region.
Furthermore, the repair order for the “Holder” construction yard vehicle in the amount of 3,830.38 euros was noted. This underlines the importance of maintaining municipal vehicles to ensure their serviceability.
Finally, the mayor informed about positive feedback from the traffic show, which took place on September 1st, 2025. Various inquiries from citizens about parking situations and speed controls were dealt with.
With the decisions made and wage savings, the municipality of Wolfsegg is actively addressing the challenges of sustainable and economical administration. The auditors' ongoing recommendations for financial optimization show the local councils' willingness to manage financial resources efficiently and show a sense of responsibility.
