New Nature Conservation Advisory Board at the Regensburg District Office: A breath of fresh air for nature
The nature conservation advisory board at the district office has recently been reorganized to address the challenges in the area of nature conservation. These advisory boards, which consist of experts, are responsible for scientific and technical advice in Bavaria. The members are appointed for a period of five years, and the tenth term ended on August 31, 2024. Therefore, the constitutive meeting of the new Advisory Board for the 11th term, which lasts until August 31, 2029, took place on the last day of the month.
At the meeting, which took place in the small meeting room of the district office, district administrator Tanja Schweiger welcomed the newly appointed members. The new faces include Dr. Albrecht Muscholl-Silberhorn, who specializes in nature conservation and biology, Christoph Bauer, who deals with forestry and ornithology, and Torsten Mierswa, who deals with vegetation science. Raoul Kreienmeier and Reinhard Neft, both from Regensburg, were also appointed to the advisory board. The employees of the environmental protection department of the district office were also present to support the meeting.
Important role of the nature conservation advisory board
In her speech, Tanja Schweiger emphasized the important role of the Nature Conservation Advisory Board. She emphasized that this advisory board plays a crucial role in all important nature conservation issues. "I would like to thank you very much for making yourself available for this responsible and voluntary work. The topics of nature and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important and are now a central area of action at all political levels," explained the district administrator.
After the welcome, the members of the previous term of office who are now leaving the advisory board were farewelled. District Administrator Schweiger thanked Alfons Hahn and the deputies Johann Mayer and Albert Karl, who made a valuable contribution to the region.
The members of the Nature Conservation Advisory Board for the 11th term of office are: Reinhard Neft, Dr. Albrecht Muscholl-Silberhorn, Christoph Bauer, Torsten Mierswa and Raoul Kreienmeier. The deputies consist of Daniela Giehrl, Uta Röder, Josef Gerl, Georg Maierhofer and Josef Sturm.
