New Year's Reception 2026: Volunteers celebrated - look at new projects!
On January 21, 2026, the Regenstauf market's New Year's reception took place in the Jahnhalle. This event primarily served as an exchange between volunteers and representatives of local trade, crafts and the economy. It also offered the opportunity to recognize the commitment of charitable citizens and to honor special achievements. Mayor Josef Schindler opened the reception with a look back at an eventful year 2025.
In his speech, Schindler looked back on important events such as the community festival, the Christmas market as well as the newly established town partnership with Casirate d'Adda and the inauguration of the new children's home in Steinsberg. These successes are proof of the active participation of the community and volunteers in Regenstauf.
Honors and awards
One of the highlights of the evening was the award given to deserving volunteers. A total of eight citizens were honored with the Regenstauf Market Badge of Honor. The honorees are:
- Carina Härtl
- Michael Bäuml
- Günther Brandl
- Hans Fischer
- Harald Hiendl
- Daniel Neugebauer
- Gottfried Reiß
- Joachim Schmid
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger expressed great praise for the commitment of these volunteers, which is of inestimable value to the community.
Special challenges and projects for 2026
The mayor also reported on the challenges of the coming years. Several projects are planned for 2026, including the renovation of the stadium, the implementation of a heating plan for the elementary school and the sports hall in Diesenbach, and the renovation of the school teaching kitchen at the middle school on Schlossberg. The completion of the new fire station building in Diesenbach is also on the agenda.
Although the fiscal situation remains tense, there is reason for hope. A reduction in the district levy is in prospect, which could bring some financial relief for the community.
The New Year's Reception 2026 was not only a celebration of commitment, but also a significant step into the future for Regenstauf, like regenstauf.de reported. The event highlighted the important role of volunteerism and the need to work together to promote the region.
