Regensburg's new brochure: Social assistance for all situations

In Regensburg there is now a new information brochure that summarizes all of the city administration's social offerings at a glance. This brochure contains over 110 different offers of help, some of which are provided in collaboration with partner organizations. The offers are explained clearly and understandably, and a QR code can be used for further information, which leads directly to more detailed content.

The support offers are divided into various categories, including children, young people, families, seniors, special circumstances and financial support. This structure is intended to make it easier for citizens to quickly find the information relevant to them. The city government has promised to update the brochure regularly to ensure all information is always up to date.

Background of the brochure

The mayor of Regensburg, Astrid Freudenstein, emphasizes that the brochure emerged from a poverty workshop last year. "There are offers for every situation in life, but many people often don't know what help is available to them. With this brochure we would like to give an overview," she explains. Maria Schiessl, the social planner, adds that the brochure is particularly important for people in the middle of their lives. At this stage of life, many already have children and may face caregiving challenges.

The brochure is not only available in printed form, but can also be viewed online on the city of Regensburg website. Those interested can pick up the printed version at various offices and advice centers or request it by telephone at (0941) 507-2022. This initiative demonstrates the city's commitment to providing citizens with comprehensive information about social assistance and thus facilitating access to important services.
