Complete closure of state road 2165: road work almost completed!
In the coming days, the full closure of state road 2165 between Etterzhausen and Pielenhofen will be lifted. The municipality of Pielenhofen announced this in a current report. The repair work, which began on October 13, 2025, is nearing completion. The full closure will be lifted on Friday, November 7th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Previously, extensive road renewal and rock stabilization work had become necessary to ensure traffic safety. The work was carried out not only because of the aging of the asphalt surface, but also because of the dangers posed by falling rocks. Pielenhofen reports that A speed limit of 50 km/h will apply during the remaining work from November 10th to 14th, 2025.
State Road 2165 was completely closed during the entire construction period. Detours were signposted across the main road network. The necessary work made these measures unavoidable to ensure the safety of road users and construction site employees. Even if the closures are perceived as inconvenient, the authorities appeal for the understanding and consideration of all road users. The StBar makes it clear that Closures should never be avoided or ignored as they serve to protect everyone.
Road safety and infrastructure
The maintenance work on state road 2165 is part of a larger program to improve road safety in the German transport network. With Vision Zero, the federal government aims to significantly improve road safety. A safe transport infrastructure plays a crucial role. The Federal Ministry of Transport has developed comprehensive guidelines for the planning, construction and operation of roads.
The measures, such as renewing the roadway and rock stabilization work, fall under the requirements of infrastructure safety management, which has been standard in Europe since 2021. The central aspects include regular safety checks and the consideration of traffic safety effects as early as the design phase. This ensures that infrastructure projects not only meet current requirements, but also guarantee the long-term safety of all road users.
