Election of the district administrator: These candidates are running in the Regensburg district!
On January 27, 2026, the approval of the nominations for the upcoming election of district administrator in the Regensburg district was announced. The election will take place on March 8, 2026. The election committee met on January 20, 2026 in the Regensburg district office and confirmed that all election proposals submitted were valid and approved.
Approved candidates include:
- Tanja Schweiger (FREIE WÄHLER)
- Patrick Grossmann (CSU)
- Dr. Merten Niebelschütz (GRÜNE)
- Silvia Gross (SPD)
- Daniela Deisenroth (Die Linke)

The announcement of the election proposals was published in the district official gazette on January 23, 2026. Details about the information can be found on the district's homepage www.landkreis-regensburg.de can be found in the “Official Gazettes” section. In addition, a nomination for the district council election was partially declared invalid due to withdrawal of approval.
Candidates had until January 26, 2026, 6 p.m., the opportunity to raise objections or nominate replacement candidates. The approved election proposals for the district council will be announced after this objection period has expired.
