Citizens' Meetings 2025: Your vote counts - dates here!
On October 13, 2025, a variety of dates for citizens' meetings in the region were announced. Young people in particular are called upon to get involved and raise their voices.

In addition, a club meeting to coordinate dates for 2026 is planned for October 27, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the elementary school in Hagelstadt.
Conditions of participation and rights of citizens
All community members who live in the respective community have the right to take part in citizens' meetings. As explained on Rosenheim, the specific conditions of participation are important: Citizens must have a main residence in the municipality, and the determination of resident status does not depend on age, nationality or length of residence. Young people who are eligible to vote are also invited to express their opinions.
A crucial feature of citizens' assemblies is the right to speak and make proposals. It is available to everyone who has an apartment in the community. These people can make motions and present their concerns, whereby other people can be given the floor if the meeting decides. However, only municipal citizens who are allowed to take part in municipal elections and adults who have had their main residence in the municipality for at least two months are entitled to vote.
The role of citizen participation
Participation in citizens' meetings is an important aspect of citizen participation and part of direct democracy. According to Landeskunde Baden-Württemberg, citizens eligible to vote have the opportunity to collect signatures for their concerns through citizens' petitions and thus apply for a referendum. During such decision-making processes, the right to political participation is strengthened.
Commitment in the form of citizens' initiatives or high-profile demonstrations is also an expression of co-determination rights. These forms of political decision-making are important in order to make citizens' concerns visible and to influence the political agenda.
Overall, the upcoming citizens' meetings in the communities of Gailsbach, Hagelstadt and Langenerling show how important it is for citizens to raise their voices and actively participate in political life. Participation in these meetings strengthens democratic structures and promotes dialogue between citizens and the community.
