New senior living project on Bayerwaldstrasse: Find out now!

On October 10, 2025, the municipality of Donaustauf will publish an announcement for the early interpretation of the preliminary draft for the project-related development plan “Senior living on Bayerwaldstrasse”. This news was announced on the municipality's website, although the associated PDF document in the publication could not be accessed, it remained blank and inaccessible.

A central aspect of this development plan is the creation of suitable living spaces for seniors. Many municipalities are increasingly recognizing the need for senior-friendly living space as the population in Germany ages and more and more people are retiring. This is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity to strengthen the community.

Additional urban developments

A similar focus on urban planning can also be seen in Landshut. Digital information for citizens on the urban development plan “Obere Liebenau” took place here on July 5, 2021. Mayor Alexander Putz welcomed the participants and presented the revised urban development design within the scope of cover sheet 5 of the development plan “Southern Klötzlmüllerstrasse – Sylvensteinstrasse extension”. Citizens had the opportunity to submit questions via a chat function, which were answered during the event. This type of citizen participation is important in order to include residents in the planning and to address their needs.

These two examples make it clear that the cities and municipalities in the region are actively working to improve their infrastructure and the quality of life of their citizens. Involving the population in decision-making processes, as was practiced in Landshut, is an important element in promoting acceptance and understanding of planned changes.

Overall, it is clear that the planning and construction of living space for senior-specific needs as well as urban development are of great importance. The involvement of communities in these areas will have a long-term positive impact on the quality of life of residents.
