Full closure of state road 2394 extended until October 2025!
The full closure of state road 2394 between Laaber and Eisenhammer will be extended until October 10, 2025. This was announced by the community of Brunn.
The closure is necessary to renovate the road surface and renew the retaining wall at Spitalmühle. The construction work, which has been underway since August 18, 2025, was originally estimated to take approximately five weeks. However, due to additional work by management and departmental managers as well as shifts in the construction process, an extension has proven necessary. Road users and residents are asked to understand the extended construction period.

Further construction projects in the region
In addition to the work on State Road 2394, other construction projects in the region are also important. The Regensburg State Building Authority reported on an upcoming road renovation between Dietfurt an der Altmühl and Beratzhausen. This begins on February 17, 2025 and is expected to be completed by mid-May.
Overall, this project includes the renewal of the roadway over a length of 1.4 km outside of town and 1.1 km in town. Diversion routes will be put in place to minimize traffic impacts. The railway company Pusch Bau GmbH & Co. KG has been commissioned to carry out the work in Dietfurt.
Federal traffic safety programs
In the context of the road construction projects, the project fits into a larger goal of the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) to improve road safety in Germany through the Road Safety Program 2021-2030. Vision Zero aims to drastically reduce road traffic accidents. Important factors are people, vehicles and the transport infrastructure.
The Federal Ministry of Transport has begun to develop technical regulations that are intended to ensure the safe design of federal highways. These regulations are also being adopted in several EU member states. Infrastructure safety management covers all phases of a road's life cycle, from planning to operation, in order to identify and resolve accident hotspots at an early stage.
The aim of the comprehensive road safety initiative is to identify suitable improvement measures and promote the responsibility of all those involved in order to ultimately increase road safety.
