New fire brigade statutes in Barbing: What citizens need to know now!

On November 12, 2025, a new statute on reimbursement of expenses and costs for operations and other services provided by the municipal fire brigade was announced in the municipality of Barbing. This happened as part of a resolution by the local council that was passed on November 4, 2025. The new version of the statutes has become necessary in order to take into account the changes in the number of fire engines.

The relevant changes include the purchase of a new LF20 fire fighting vehicle for the Sarching volunteer fire department and the implementation of an LF10 from the Sarching volunteer fire department to the Illkofen volunteer fire department. In addition, a personnel transport vehicle (MTW) for the Friesheim Volunteer Fire Department is recognized. These adjustments required a recalculation of the flat rates for billing.

Details about the new statutes

The new statutes and the associated appendix, which contain the updated flat rates, are available for inspection during general business hours in Barbing Town Hall, Room 5. Citizens are encouraged to find out about the innovations.

The models of fire service cost statutes that are used in Bavaria are based on current standards and have been used by various municipalities to create their own regulations. A corresponding revised template can be downloaded from the website of the Bavarian Municipal Association to support other municipalities in implementing similar regulations. Emphasis is placed on the clarity and legality of the billing, as is also set out in the fire brigade cost reimbursement statutes of the municipality of Lichtenstein.

On the websites Bavarian Community Day and Municipality of Lichtenstein Those interested can find further information on the regulations and framework conditions for fire brigade costs. These documents are helpful in developing a better understanding of the different approaches in municipalities.

The current new version shows an exemplary approach in the municipality of Barbing to make the fire department's operations financially transparent and to adapt it to the latest circumstances. In order to ensure the regulated application of the cost rates, it makes sense to regularly review the legal basis and adjust it if necessary in order to ensure proper and fair reimbursement of costs.
