Important construction work is underway in Barbing that affects Kreuzstrasse and Kirchstrasse. REWAG KG has announced that it will renew a water supply pipe and at the same time lay a district heating pipe. These measures are necessary to improve the city's infrastructure and ensure security of supply. Construction work will begin in the 42nd calendar week of 2024.
The city administration asks residents and road users for their understanding as the work involves restrictions. In order to be able to carry out the construction work efficiently, we ask that truck and car traffic be reduced or, ideally, stopped completely between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. This is important so that construction vehicles have access to the work areas at all times.

The roads will be completely closed during construction, but access to the properties will remain guaranteed at all times. However, it should be noted that accessibility by car will only be possible to a limited extent. Access for emergency services and the fire brigade is guaranteed throughout, which is of great importance for the safety of residents.
The construction project begins on Kreuzstrasse and continues towards Kirchstrasse. After the main pipes have been replaced, selective excavations are planned to renovate water house connections. However, this work will only be carried out after the main work has been completed in order to keep disruption as low as possible.
