15 couples celebrate their love: an unforgettable marriage anniversary in Lixenried

Last Saturday, a special celebration took place in the “Maria Queen” branch church in Lixenried that honored the love and stability of 15 married couples. These couples had a round or semi-round wedding anniversary this year, and the church was festively decorated to celebrate the occasion. A large heart in the sanctuary symbolized the love that was the focus of the service.

Pastor Franz Merl opened the Holy Mass with warm words and thanked the celebrating couples for coming. He recalled that many years ago they had made a promise at the altar for a life of love and loyalty. The service was not only a celebration but also an opportunity to invoke God's blessings on the couples so that they can stand together in good times and bad.

Musical accompaniment and inspiring messages

Nina and Kathi took over the musical design of the service, contributing to the festive atmosphere with sensitive songs. Community speaker Silvia Fuchs read a text from the first letter of the Apostle Paul, which described the characteristics of love: It is patient, friendly and never ends. This message was supplemented by Deacon Alfred Dobler, who celebrated their 40th marriage anniversary with his wife Helga. In his speech he referred to the song “Always, again and again the sun rises” by Udo Jürgens, which symbolizes hope and new beginnings.

Pastor Merl read the names of the celebrating couples and invited them to hold hands while he said the prayer of blessing. The intercessions were made by Michaela and Rudi Kolbeck, who also remembered the deceased relatives of the celebrating couples. After the service, all couples were invited to a small celebration in the church hall.

Festive honors and entertaining contributions

Sabine Meixensperger, the spokeswoman for the parish council, welcomed those present with the words: “The great happiness in love is finding peace in another heart.” She emphasized that every marriage is a unique journey that requires patience and dedication. The celebrating couples were honored by Pastor Merl and Deacon Dobler, with Silvia Fuchs reading out the significance of the respective anniversaries from 20 to 60 years. Each couple received small gifts and a rose as a token of appreciation.

The evening was livened up by a sketch by Silvia Fuchs and Deacon Dobler, which caused a lot of laughter. Memories were exchanged in a convivial atmosphere and the celebration came to a harmonious end. The event was not only a celebration of love, but also an affirmation of the strength and resilience inherent in the celebrating couples' marriages.
