Autumnal adventures in the Frankenhöhe Nature Park: Join in now!
This autumn it will be wild in the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. Whether wild birds, wild fruits or with wild knocking. The nature park's program offers something wild for everyone. Visitors are invited to take part in various events. Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes are important.
Events in the nature park
A work assignment entitled “Under the Oaks” will take place on November 9, 2024. The meeting point is at Fuchseck, north of Mitteldachstetten. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. The Hutewald is a valuable habitat that is threatened by overgrowing shrubs and trees. The participants work together to preserve this treasure chest. “We maintain the open structure of the Hutewald with scissors and saws,” says the description. Anyone who wants to can take part. Don't forget work gloves. The event lasts four hours.
Another event will take place on November 10, 2024. Under the title “What trees tell us in winter”, participants learn to recognize trees even in winter. The meeting point is at the Brunnenhaus car park in Schillingsfürst. The event starts at 2 p.m. “If we look at the bark, buds and growth, we can easily recognize different trees, even in winter,” it explains. The distance is four kilometers and the duration is around two and a half hours.
Winter discoveries
Another event is scheduled for November 30, 2024. Under the title “Even if it gets cold – we can still find mushrooms!” The participants meet at the Fischerheim in Neusitz. The event starts at 2 p.m. Even in frosty temperatures in late autumn, true treasures can be discovered. “Accompany us on an exciting tour and discover little wonders in the forest,” the invitation emphasizes. The distance is three kilometers and the duration is two hours.
The events offer a good opportunity to experience nature and learn more about the local flora and fauna. The rangers from the Frankenhöhe Nature Park accompany the participants and are available to answer questions.
