This autumn it will be wild in the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. Whether wild birds, wild fruits or with wild knocking. The nature park's program offers something wild for everyone. The events invite you to actively experience and discover nature.
Events in the nature park
Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes are required for the events. A work assignment entitled “Under the Oaks” will take place on November 9, 2024. The meeting point is at Fuchseck, north of Mitteldachstetten. The event starts at 9 a.m. and lasts four hours.
The valuable “Hutewald” habitat is threatened by encroaching shrubs and trees. The participants work together to preserve this treasure chest. They maintain the open structure of the Hutewald with scissors and saws. “We ensure that not only the oaks, but also the animal species that live there, are preserved for future generations.” Anyone who wants to can take part. Don't forget work gloves.
More events in November
Another event will take place on November 10, 2024. The title is “What trees tell us in winter”. The meeting point is at the Brunnenhaus car park in Schillingsfürst. The event starts at 2 p.m. and lasts two and a half hours.
In winter only the trees' winter clothes remain visible. Participants learn to recognize different trees by their bark, buds and growth. There are exciting things to discover about trees and their inhabitants. The distance is four kilometers.
On November 30, 2024, the event “Even if it gets cold – we can still find mushrooms!” on the program. The meeting point is at the Fischerheim in Neusitz. The event also starts at 2 p.m. and lasts two hours.
Participants usually look for mushrooms in late summer and autumn. But even in frosty temperatures in late autumn you can discover real treasures. “Accompany us on an exciting tour and discover little wonders in the forest.” The distance is three kilometers.
The events offer a good opportunity to experience nature and learn more about the local flora and fauna.
