Funding for small regional projects: Submit applications now!

In recent years, the Obere Vils-Ehenbach Working Group (AOVE) has successfully supported numerous small projects in the region. Now there is good news for everyone who has creative ideas: There will be financial support for regional initiatives again in 2025. Interested parties can submit their funding applications until January 1, 2025.

A look at the previous projects shows how diverse the support has been used. For example, a beautiful pavilion was built in the multi-generation park, and in Schnaittenbach there is now a covered seating area at the Fensterbach spring. Playgrounds have also been redesigned or upgraded, such as the mud playground on the Gockelwiese in Hahnbach, which is now equipped with an awning. Theater performances by the KLJB Iber benefit from a new curtain, and landscape frames have been installed at viewing points in Poppenricht. In addition, the Goglhoffreunde in Eberhardsbühl have upgraded their club rooms, and the Steinling Volunteer Fire Department has made the forecourt between the Kneipp pool and the fire station barrier-free.

Eco-projects and their support

Another important aspect is the funding framework for eco-projects, which has already made some interesting projects possible this year. These include a sales house for organic orchards, a processing room for organic beef and a mobile organic fattening rooster stable. These projects help raise awareness of organic food and make rural areas more attractive.

The funding is specifically intended for small projects with total costs of up to 20,000 euros. Up to 80 percent of the costs can be funded, with the grant per project amounting to a maximum of 10,000 euros. Both individuals and associations can benefit from this support, which significantly expands the possibilities for creative ideas.

“With these two funding programs, we can control the development of our region more independently,” say AOVE spokesman Bernhard Lindner, AOVE managing director Katja Stiegler and Annika Reich, project manager of the Amberg/Amberg-Sulzbach eco-model region. The decision about funding for individual projects lies in the hands of a committee made up of representatives of regional actors. The final approval is given by the Office for Rural Development (ALE) Upper Palatinate.
