Flower afternoon in Hahnbach: enjoyment, music and community await you!

On November 11, 2025, the Hahnbach Fruit and Horticultural Association's traditional flower afternoon took place in the Knight's Hall. The event, which was organized by chairman Josef Moosburger, was well attended with guests of honor and numerous members. The rich cake and cake buffet as well as the musical accompaniment by Anton Auer on the accordion contributed to the festive atmosphere. A highlight of the afternoon was the raffle of flower sticks to all members present, so that everyone could go home with a blooming souvenir.

The guests of honor included the new board of the Iber horticultural association, represented by spokesman Norbert Ströhl, who emphasized that it was important to preserve tried and tested things and still implement fresh ideas. Eduard Eckl, the former board member and second chairman of the OGVs in the Amberg-Sulzbach district, expressed his joy at the continuation of the tradition in Hahnbach and recalled the beginnings of the flower afternoons and their awards. The community and exchange among garden enthusiasts were the focus of his speech.

Honoring merits

Franz Erras, honorary member and tour guide, presented a new trip to Holland for the tulip blossom from April 23rd to 27th, 2026. Those interested can register by calling 0175/2386394. Georg Götz, board member of the Hahnbach Cultural Committee, thanked the OGV for the diverse offerings and support of the fully booked holiday program, which was very successful due to a positive 2025 harvest year.

Mayor Bernhard Lindner was also present and assured that he would continue to support the community with flower presents and the orchard. In his speech, Pastor Michael Birner thanked the two clubs for their commitment and emphasized the importance of flowers as a source of joy and connection to God. He wanted people to find joy and enjoyment in God's creation.

Invitation to tree planting

Particularly important is the invitation to plant a memorial tree for the first grade of the Max Prechtl School, which will take place on November 18th at 10:15 a.m. in the orchard. This celebratory act symbolizes the community's connection to nature and underlines the commitment to a green future.

The flower afternoon ended with a pleasant distribution of flower sticks to the members and a positive atmosphere that further consolidated the tradition of the Hahnbach Fruit and Horticultural Association. Such events not only promote a sense of community, but are also a valuable opportunity for garden lovers to meet and exchange ideas.
