From September 2, 2024, there will be an important construction project in Schorn: the bus stops on state road 2035 will be renewed. This work is necessary to bring the stops into a safe and usable condition. Construction is expected to be completed on September 21, 2024.
Christoph Eichstaedt, head of department at the Augsburg State Building Authority, explains that although the bus stops are not heavily frequented, they still need renovation. “It is important that both the waiting areas and the parking areas for the buses comply with current technical standards,” he says. Particular attention is paid to the installation of high boards, which are intended to make it easier for passengers to get in and out.
Traffic control during construction work
During construction, traffic near the construction site will be controlled by traffic lights. This traffic light switch will also take into account the junction of Schorn to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Interestingly, the bus stop will remain operational throughout the construction period, meaning passengers will continue to have the opportunity to use public transport.
The Free State of Bavaria is investing around 50,000 euros for this construction project. This investment demonstrates the authorities' commitment to improving the region's infrastructure and providing citizens with safe access to public transport.
