Saint Nicholas is coming to you! Visit on December 5th and 6th!
On November 11, 2025, two important events will be in focus in Mering: the traditionally organized home visits of Saint Nicholas and the upcoming performances of “The Brave Little Tailor” by the Volksbühne Mering. These initiatives contribute to the cultural and social community in the region.
This year, the Volksbühne Mering, founded in 1974 by Martin Schallermeier, is once again offering home visits from Saint Nicholas and Knecht Ruprecht for families. Parents are invited to provide gifts for their children and create a “Golden Book” page with information about their child. This information should be placed on your doorstep or in an easy-to-find location. The contemplative visits will take place on December 5th and 6th from 5:00 p.m.
Registration and donations
The visit is voluntary, which is why no fixed price is charged. Donations of around 10 euros per child are welcome and will go to a good cause. Anyone interested can register by calling Bettina Grundler on 0152 06896070; Telephone inquiries should be made in the morning between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and in the evening from 6 p.m.
At the same time, tickets for the performances of the fairy tale “The Brave Little Tailor” can now be reserved and can be viewed on the Volksbühne Mering website. The performances are part of the Volksbühne's long-standing commitment to puppetry and the tradition of fairy tale performances, particularly the stories of the Brothers Grimm.
Cultural life in Rosenheim
In addition to the Volksbühne Mering, the Volksbühne Rosenheim is also active. The comedy “Landeier” by Frederik Holtkamp, which has already been announced as a fall production in 2025, will be performed there. The plot revolves around young farmer Alex and his friends who are looking for women in a bar. The direction is by Peter Kirmair and the set design is by Franz Grießl.
The premiere of the comedy will take place on October 24, 2025, followed by further performances until November 22, 2025. Admission begins one hour before the start of the performance. Places are limited and registration takes place via the Volksbühne Rosenheim ticketing system. Entrance fees are 14 to 16 euros plus the advance booking fee.
These events not only contribute to the cultural diversity of the cities, but also promote community spirit and social interaction during the run-up to Christmas.
