Climate Week 2024: Enjoyable activities for a sustainable future

The Climate Protection Agency has once again decided to take part in the Bavarian Climate Week, which takes place from October 11th to 20th. This initiative is organized by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection and offers a variety of activities that revolve around the theme “Simple.Tasty.Climate-friendly”. The events are designed to raise awareness of climate-smart eating and inspire participants to make sustainable choices.

A highlight of the week is the opening on Tuesday, October 15th. Here District Administrator Dr. Klaus Metzger opens the Bavarian Climate Week and the accompanying exhibition “Meal for Future”. Afterwards, Ms. Schwengel-Exner from the Bavarian Consumer Center will give a lecture that offers exciting insights into the exhibition. This event promises to be both informative and stimulating.

A variety of activities and workshops

On Wednesday, October 16th and Friday, October 18th, cooking courses will take place in Aichach and Dasing under the motto “Climate-friendly feasting”. These courses are offered in collaboration with the Aichach-Friedberg Adult Education Center and offer participants the opportunity to try out delicious and sustainable recipes.

Another exciting event is the adventure farm tour “From Grain to Bread” on Thursday, October 17th. This tour takes place at the Biolandhof Kreppold and is carried out in cooperation with the Paartal eco-model region. Here participants can experience first hand how bread is made from grain and learn more about the importance of regional products.

In addition, the “Meal for Future” exhibition will be accessible free of charge from October 15th to 31st in the foyer of the district office during regular opening hours. This exhibition, organized by the Bavarian Consumer Center, offers valuable information about climate-friendly nutrition and sustainable lifestyles.
