Folk festival in Weiden: parade and beer tapping open the celebrations!
The Weidener Volksfest officially began on Thursday, September 12th, with a festive parade and the traditional beer tapping. Mayor Jens Meyer gave the starting signal for the celebrations with a powerful blow, which bathed the city in a happy atmosphere.
The parade, which attracted numerous participants and spectators, led people to the festival tent, where the Weiden town band provided musical entertainment. The sounds of the music invited visitors to celebrate and sing together, which further fueled the mood.
Entertainment and highlights
On Friday, September 13th, the party band “Highline” will perform in the festival tent from 7:00 p.m. The band is known for their rousing performances and will certainly create an exuberant atmosphere. Another highlight of the evening will be a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky over Weiden around 9:30 p.m.
The festival, which also includes a large consumer fair in a separate tent, runs until Monday, September 16th. On the last day of the festival, visitors can look forward to reduced prices, providing a great opportunity to take advantage of the offers.
