The Weiden Folk Festival 2024 is just around the corner and promises an exciting experience for all visitors. In a few weeks, the festival site on Conrad-Röntgen-Straße will be the setting for a five-day traditional festival that will feature a variety of attractions and culinary delicacies. The anticipation is great because in addition to the popular classics, there are also some new highlights that make the festival even more exciting.
The city of Weiden invites everyone to look forward to a colorful program. There will be musical performances in the festival tent that will create a good atmosphere. In addition, a large consumer trade fair will take place in a separate tent with numerous stands and offers. Here visitors can browse and discover the latest products.
Treats and festivities
Your physical well-being is well taken care of. In addition to the festival host, numerous snack bars will offer their delicacies. The offering ranges from traditional dishes such as fish and pretzels to modern snacks such as lángos and burgers. Sweets lovers will also get their money's worth: stalls with hot almonds, crepes, cotton candy and chocolate fruits will enchant visitors.
The folk festival will be ceremoniously opened on Thursday, September 12th. The traditional pageant starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Hammerweg School. Afterwards, the festival will be officially opened at 7:15 p.m. with a salute and the beer tapping by Mayor Jens Meyer. A special highlight awaits guests on Friday evening when an impressive fireworks display lights up the sky at 9:30 p.m. Monday is all about families, because on this day there are reduced prices for visitors young and old.
The opening hours of the folk festival are daily from 2:00 p.m. to midnight, although on Sundays you can celebrate in the festival tent from 12:00 p.m. The consumer fair is open on the opening day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while on the following days it is accessible from Friday to Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The festival tent is managed by B. Schuhmann Festzeltbetriebe GmbH, and the beer price is €11.30. Table reservations are at the telephone number 01 75 / 4 46 78 00 possible.
