Christmas joy for Schwandorf children: vouchers available from November
Vouchers can be applied for at the town hall from mid-November. In Schwandorf it is a tradition to bring joy to children in need of help at Christmas. The “Schwandorfer Relief Organization” supports children between the ages of 0 and 16. Children whose parents receive unemployment benefit II, benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act or social assistance are eligible. These families must have their usual place of residence in Schwandorf. Each child receives a voucher worth 70 euros. The voucher can be used for clothing, shoes, school supplies and toys.
Applying for vouchers
The vouchers can be redeemed at C&A, Müller drugstore and the Gruber shoe store in Schwandorf. Parents can apply for the vouchers between November 15, 2024 and December 1, 2024. This is possible by post or email. The address for postal applications is: Stadt Schwandorf, Hilfewerk, Spitalgarten 1, 92421 Schwandorf. The address stadtkaemmerei@schwandorf.de is available for email applications. Alternatively, the documents can also be dropped into the mailbox at the town hall.
Required documents
Some documents are required for the application. This includes the current complete benefit notification from the job center or the district office. A copy of your ID card or replacement ID document is also necessary. Parents should also provide their telephone number in case of any questions. After reviewing the notifications, the vouchers and the documents submitted will be sent to the families.
The vouchers can be redeemed in the shops mentioned until December 21, 2024. The city of Schwandorf is happy about active participation in order to make as many children as possible happy.
