Future-oriented school association meeting in Oberviechtach

At the most recent school association meeting, which took place on October 1, 2024, school association chairman Rudolf J. Teplitzky took the opportunity to thank the team around principal Werner Winderl for their outstanding work at the Doctor Eisenbarth Middle School in Oberviechtach. Teplitzky emphasized the importance of cooperation between the school, the school management and the school association, which serves as a platform for exchange as part of the school dialogue. This cooperation is crucial to improving the quality of education and making the school future-proof.

Headmaster Winderl joined the words of thanks and emphasized how important good equipment is for school life. “A good school life only works with a solid foundation,” he explained. He also gave an overview of the progress of various projects and noted that the Oberviechtach middle school is well positioned in the area of digitalization compared to other schools. The new deputy director Julia Kopp also introduced herself and expressed her excitement about working with the team.

Financial overview and budget planning

A central point of the meeting was the approval of the 2022 annual financial statements. The figures for 2023 show that the administrative budget is around 940,000 euros, while the asset budget remains just under 60,000 euros. There were some overages, particularly in student transportation and equipment costs. Despite these expenses, the school association remains debt-free, with reserves of 42,136.34 euros at the end of the year. The assembly took note of the bill and approved the excess and unplanned expenditure without any objections.

The last item on the agenda discussed the budget for 2024. The administrative budget closes with income and expenses of 928,500 euros, while the asset budget includes 47,000 euros, which will be used, among other things, to improve the IT equipment. The total budget amounts to 975,500 euros, with the school association contribution amounting to 746,200 euros. With 271 students, the levy is 2,753.51 euros per student. The budget was passed unanimously, which underlines the positive cooperation and commitment of all those involved.
