Green waste disposal in Nittenau: City is looking for private operators

The city of Nittenau is planning a significant change in waste management. The green waste collection point is currently located in the building yard on Bodensteiner Straße, but this will soon be relocated to a new location. The reason for this decision is that the city does not have the necessary land to continue to operate green waste disposal itself.

In order to make green waste disposal efficient, a non-binding expression of interest is now being launched. The aim is to find a private waste disposal company who will accept and recycle green waste. This includes garden waste, lawn, tree and shrub cuttings, which are classified under waste code 20 02 01. Every year, around 6,000 m³ of this waste is generated in Nittenau, which comes from private households and municipal sources.
