CITY TRIANGLE. The 14th city triangle run, which took place in Teublitz on August 17, 2024, was a complete success. With almost 600 participants and the generous support of three banks, an impressive sum of 4,500 euros was raised for the food bank. This charity is known for its important work helping those in need in the region.
The motto of the event was “Achieving the Goal Together”, which underlined the community and cohesion of the participants. This year, the Sparkasse in the Schwandorf district, the VR Bank Regensburg-Schwandorf and the VR Bank Mittlere Oberpfalz have once again agreed to donate 2.50 euros for each runner who crosses the finish line. This initiative resulted in a record amount, exceeding previous donations.
Gratitude from the mayor
The mayors of Teublitz, Burglengenfeld and Maxhütte-Haidhof were present at the ceremonial handover of the donation in the Teublitz town hall. Thomas Beer, Thomas Gesche and Rudolf Seidl expressed their gratitude for the banks' continued support. They emphasized how important such donations are for the food bank, which is located at Ockerstrasse 4 in Maxhütte-Haidhof.
The representatives of the banks, including Mathias Semmelmann from Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Regensburg-Schwandorf eG, Sebastian Gehmacher from VR Bank Mittlere Oberpfalz eG and Tobias Eckl from Sparkasse in the Schwandorf district, explained that it was a matter of course for them to support the city triangle run. They even increased the donation per participant by one euro compared to the previous year, which underlines the appreciation for the work of the table.
In total, an impressive 36,500 euros have been collected for the Tafel over the last 14 years thanks to the support of the banks. This sum shows how important the cooperation between the banks and the food bank is. The Tafel employees accepted the check with great joy and warmly thanked the bank representatives for their commitment.
