Blooming together: flower bulb planting campaign in Zeitlarn on November 9th
The municipality of Zeitlarn cordially invites all citizens to the flower bulb planting campaign, which will take place on November 9th, 2024. After the positive experiences of the last two years, the community hopes for active participation from people of all ages, whether individuals, groups or clubs. Together, the surrounding area should be beautified with colorful flowers.
On Saturday, numerous flower bulbs, including crocuses and daffodils, are planted in the ground. These plants are not only beautiful to look at, but also important to the environment as they provide food for bees and other insects. The community has already prepared suitable areas and procured the onions; now active helpers are needed to plant the onions.
Event details
The flower bulbs will be handed out on the day of the campaign between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at the Zeitlarn building yard. Anyone interested in participating as “hobby gardeners” is asked to contact Ms. Sabrina Jung in advance at the town hall. This helps with the coordination and planning of the event. The contact details are: Telephone 0941 69693-24 or email rathaus@zeitlarn.de.
When registering, participants also have the opportunity to make suggestions for green spaces that should be taken into account in the planning. The community welcomes any ideas and suggestions.
In order to carry out the planting campaign successfully, we ask that you bring your own planting tools such as spades and gardening gloves. The community would like to thank all volunteers in advance who would like to get involved and contribute to the beautification of the community.
There is great anticipation of the colorful spring when the first flowers bloom in February. The crocuses are particularly important because they provide food for the first bumblebees and wild bees. The planting campaign is part of a long-term initiative to protect insects in Zeitlarn, which will be continued in the coming years.
