New bus connections from September: Wörth improves regional transport
From September 10, 2024, there will be some exciting innovations in regional bus transport in the Regensburg district that are particularly important for students and commuters. These changes will come into effect just in time for the start of the new school year and are intended to improve mobility in the region.
One of the most important adjustments concerns line 5A, which runs from Zinzendorf via Wörth a.d.Donau to Regensburg Hbf. An additional connection will be introduced in the afternoon, arriving in Regensburg at 5:10 p.m. The trip starts at 4:35 p.m. at the Wörth Reitfeld stop and makes a stop at the Wörth-Wiesent business park at 4:47 p.m. This new connection is intended to meet the needs of working people and students who need a quick return trip in the afternoon.
Changes in student transport
There are also important adjustments for school transport. For the express journeys to Neutraubling, the Barbing stop is omitted for the departures at 7:03 a.m. from Wörth a.d.Donau and at 7:15 a.m. from Wiesent Ost. This measure is intended to optimize travel times and ensure a smoother process for the students.
In addition, the on-call bus line 900, which runs between Falkenstein and Wörth, will be expanded to include several stops. Newly added are the stops Wörth (Donau), Petersplatz, Sandweg Ausfl. Restaurant, Wiedenrös, Reichenbach, Vordergrub, Kirnberg, Aumbrunn, Hechthof and Falkenstein Bayerl gardening center. This expansion is intended to make it easier for residents to access public transport and make using the on-call bus more attractive.
