Five years of midwifery care: A milestone for Regensburg's families

The coordination office for midwifery care in the city and district of Regensburg is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Since 2019, the position has pursued the goal of strengthening the care provided by freelance midwives. Families and new parents in the region should receive midwifery care. The coordination office also organizes the work of the midwives and networks them with each other.

Achievements of the last five years

In recent years, the coordination office has initiated numerous projects. These promote collaboration between midwives and other healthcare providers. The quality of postpartum care has improved as a result. Around 2,000 women and newborns were cared for as part of the acute care program. The positive response from families and professionals shows the importance of this facility.

Personnel changes and new offers

Takes over on February 1, 2024Martina Eiblthe vacant position in the coordination office. She brings extensive professional experience and would like to further expand the offerings. A special highlight is the introduction of the new baby consultation. This has taken place every first Monday of the month since September. Parents can ask questions about the first months of their child's life and receive valuable tips from experienced midwives. The consultation hours are intended to reduce insecurities in early parenthood.
