Digital future for clubs: Free workshops start in October!

The eleventh season of the Regensburg district club school begins on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, which aims to support clubs with their training needs. This initiative is particularly important because many clubs have recognized the importance of social networks for their public relations work, but often face challenges in practice. The club school therefore offers several workshops from October to April that deal with current topics.

The first workshop is entitled “digital united” and is dedicated to the public relations work of associations through the use of social media. This workshop will take place in the large meeting room of the district office from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will cover various aspects, such as the differences between “Post”, “Reel” and “Story”, community management and the use of the “Meta-Business Suite”. The number of participants is limited and registration is required to participate. Information about this and other events is available on the Regensburger Land Volunteer Agency website.

More workshops and topics

Another workshop will be offered in November that deals with the role of clubs as a school for successful cooperation and democracy. The speaker Claudine Nierth, political activist and federal spokesperson for Mehr Democracy e.V., will provide important impulses and encourage participants to think about their own influence.

The workshops are not just intended for experienced club members. They are aimed at everyone who wants to plan and design their club presence on social media. The use of social media can be of great importance for clubs as it enables direct communication with members and makes contact with younger target groups easier. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook in particular offer promising opportunities for associations’ public relations work.

Practical tips for using social media

Common social media platforms enable clubs to present their activities in a targeted manner. Instagram is ideal for pictures and short videos to share impressions of club life. TikTok, on the other hand, is particularly popular with the younger generation because the platform promotes creative, short videos. Facebook remains a versatile platform for sharing announcements and videos, while Twitter (X) can be used for professional and political club communication.

However, implementing a successful social media strategy requires continuous measurement of success. Important metrics such as reach, engagement and follower growth should be analyzed regularly to adjust content and strategies. Dealing proactively with criticism and respecting personal rights are essential to avoid negative experiences online.

Finally, the “Digital is better” campaign shows how important it is to take new paths in public relations. The campaign promotes the involvement of young people in the association's work and uses modern approaches to attract media attention and recruit new members.

You can register for the club school's workshops using an online form, by email to the volunteer agency or by telephone. These training courses are free of charge and are open to all interested club members.
