Regensburg (RL). The Regensburg district circuit has established itself as one of the most important sporting events in the region. On September 14, 2024, around 2,700 runners took part in the 15th edition of the event. The participants had the opportunity to complete one of ten stages that led from Demling to Zeitlarn.
The teams showed impressive performances, especially the Peppex Sports Team Men's @ALL2024 relay team, who won the men's relay in 04:35:33.67, and the Armin Wolf Running Team 2, who led the women's relay with 05:42:22.60. In the mixed category, the athletes triumphed with a time of 05:02:42.99. Particularly noteworthy are the six female and 23 male “Ultras” who completed the entire 76-kilometer route alone.
Organization and support
A big thank you goes to the district office's organizational team and the approximately 400 helpers who worked at the transition zones and along the route. District Administrator Tanja Schweiger said she was proud of the successful event: "It was a great honor for us to organize the Regensburg district circuit for the third time. May God bless everyone who contributed to the success of the relay race."
The land circuit has established itself not only as a regional but also as an international event. The main sponsors Krones and BMW were each represented with 27 teams, including participants from Hungary and China. This shows that the Regensburg district circuit is a unifying sporting event that brings people from different countries together.
Outlook for 2025
Preparations for the next land cycle are already in full swing. In 2025, the main organizing team, consisting of Maria Politzka and Johannes Neuberger, will bring the event to the western Regensburg district. The start will be in Pettendorf, the finish in Beratzhausen, and the date is set for September 20, 2025.
