New special area for renewable energies planned in Obertraubling!
On January 27, 2026, the municipality of Obertraubling announced important steps to implement sustainable energy projects. In an official announcement, the development plan for the “Special Area for Renewable Energy Anno Santo Settlement” was presented in parallel with the 11th amendment to the land use plan. This initiative, which was approved by the local council on October 27, 2025, is intended to promote the use of renewable energies in the region.
The planning area includes the properties with parcel numbers 293 and 294 in the Obertraubling district. As part of the preparation of a qualified development plan in accordance with Section 30 Paragraph 1 of the Building Code, a special area for renewable energies is designated. The aim of this planning is to present and explain the general objectives, purposes and expected impacts of the use of renewable energy.
Insight into the planning
From January 27th to March 2nd, 2026, citizens can view the draft plans as well as the associated justification, the green space plan and other facilities in the town hall at Josef-Bäumel-Platz 1 in Obertraubling. Access takes place during general business hours in room 01 on the ground floor. This provides an excellent opportunity to explain the plan and express any suggestions or concerns.
Subject to a timely response, suggestions can be made in writing or orally for the record. It is important to point out that objections according to Section 47 VwGO are inadmissible if they are not asserted in a timely manner. The documents are also available online obertraubling.de available.
Environmental information and statements
The announcement also contains environmental information on important protected assets such as soil, water, air, climate, species and habitats, people, landscape as well as cultural and material assets. Significant environmentally-related statements, including from the Regensburg District Office, on topics such as water law, soil protection and nature and landscape protection are already available and are part of the planning documents.
The announcement, dated January 27, 2026, was signed by Rainer Sinn, the second mayor of Obertraubling. With this project, the community is setting an example for the future and the need to focus on renewable energy sources in order to operate sustainably and environmentally consciously.
