New medical center in Lappersdorf: milestone for healthcare!
On January 27, 2026, significant progress was made in Lappersdorf as part of the redesign of the local thoroughfare. The conclusion of preliminary agreements to rent the first and second floors of the new building at Regensburger Straße 10 marks an important milestone. These contracts were signed with two experienced doctors, Dr. Franziska Schwan and Dr. Christiane Blecha, both of whom will locate their practices in this new location.
Ms. Dr. Franziska Schwan, a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine, has 14 years of professional experience, with 12 years of her career taking place at the University Hospital Regensburg. She already runs a practice in Lappersdorf and plans to expand her capacities with the new premises. Your colleague, Dr. Christiane Blecha, has been working as an ophthalmologist in Lappersdorf since 2021 and took over the practice from Dr. Dr. in July 2025. Bogdahn. In addition to the rental agreements, the plans for the demolition and new construction work in the building at Regensburger Straße 10 as well as the redesign of the market square were approved. The building applications were duly submitted to the Regensburg district office. The demolition work and slope stabilization measures for the building in question are scheduled to begin in March 2026, followed by construction work on the house, market square and staircase, which will start in summer 2026. The entire process is scheduled to be completed by spring 2028 and is estimated to have a budget of 3.9 million euros for the building and 1.7 million euros for the market square and the staircase.
Financial support and further developments
The measures to redesign the marketplace receive generous support from the Free State of Bavaria, which is funding up to 60% of the costs. The ground floor of the new building is intended to be used for catering purposes; Negotiations with an interested restaurant are currently underway.
