On Sunday, September 28, 2025, an exciting day of action will take place in the um:welt from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Under the motto "Weather. Change. We - solutions for tomorrow!" Visitors are offered the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about climate adaptation management. Organized by the city and district of Regensburg, the day offers a varied program for all age groups.

Participants can look forward to informative short lectures. René Kist from the Munich Regional Climate Office (DWD) will give a lecture on the topic "Weather or climate? What we feel - and what is really changing" from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Afterwards, Josef Sedlmeier from the Regensburg District Office will explain in his lecture from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. how “Climate fit from the district to the garden fence – How landscape management and gardens can make us more resilient”.

Interactive offers and exhibitions

A creative craft activity in which UV bead bracelets can be made provides a playful and illustrative experience. A climate course is also offered, which makes it possible to experience the different surface temperatures. A walk-through climate timeline shows the past, present and future. As a special attraction, the special exhibition “Together for the Climate” is presented by the Consumer Service Bavaria at KDFB e.V.

Those interested can find further information about the events at um-welt.bayern.

Further training courses on climate adaptation

Parallel to the day of action, a training course for specialists will take place as part of a three-day training seminar on September 17th to 19th in Karlsruhe. This manages the Center for Climate Adaptation and provides practical events that are tailored to the current needs of participants. Participation is free of charge, but you must cover your own travel and accommodation costs.

The program includes seminars on climate protection and climate adaptation, which are of increasing importance for companies and public bodies. How bew.de reported, there is a significant need for action and further training due to legal requirements and the increase in extreme weather events.

Other dates are also planned for the training in September 2025 this year, which are already very popular, such as those in Lüneburg, Kassel and Dresden. The organizer recommends trying to get a place early and offers places on the waiting list via the email address event@zentrum-klimaadaptation.de can be requested.

The time around the day of action and the training offers an excellent opportunity to further educate yourself and raise awareness of climate protection and adaptation. Participation in these events represents a valuable contribution to the responsible use of our natural resources.
