Citizens' meetings in November: Your vote counts, Beratzhausen!
On October 30, 2025, the Beratzhausen market will announce important citizens' meetings in the coming month. These take place as part of the involvement of citizens in municipal issues and are intended to offer all interested parties the opportunity to present their concerns. The meetings will be held on the following dates: Monday, November 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Landgasthof Seitz in Friesenmühle; on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, also at 7:00 p.m. in the Landgasthof Schnaus in Oberpfraundorf; and on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gasthaus Rödl in Mausheim. Participation is possible for all citizens, regardless of where they live. The author of the invitation is Matthias Beer, the first mayor of Beratzhausen.
Parallel to the citizens' meetings, Beratzhausen is starting a special anniversary year. In 2025 the 50th anniversary of the town twinning with Ceyrat will be celebrated. This partnership, launched in 1975, has produced numerous exchange programs, cultural events and friendship initiatives over the years. The celebrations include, among other things, a European festival in which the connection between Beratzhausen and Ceyrat is honored. The aim of these festivities is to strengthen friendship and promote intercultural exchange, which will further emphasize the shared values of solidarity and understanding, said Beer.
The importance of town twinning
The town twinnings, such as the one between Beratzhausen and Ceyrat, are part of a larger trend that emerged after World War II to improve international relations and promote peace. They offer many benefits, including the opportunity for cultural and educational exchanges and the promotion of friendly relationships that reduce prejudice and raise awareness of global challenges.
Another benefit is economic cooperation, which creates new business opportunities and can boost local tourism. The exchange of ideas in the areas of environment and urban development is also supported through joint projects. However, town twinning is not without its challenges. Disadvantages include financial burdens of implementing exchange programs, bureaucratic hurdles and differences in priorities between twin cities that can make collaboration difficult. Despite these challenges, intercultural dialogue remains a central goal of such partnerships, as does the promotion of peace and tolerance among peoples.
In Beratzhausen, preparations for the upcoming events and meetings are already being made intensively. Citizens are invited to take an active part in shaping their community and in the celebratory recognition of the long friendship with Ceyrat.
