The family hiking day in Vohenstrauß, which is celebrated as part of the city's anniversary “900 years of Vohenstrauß”, has a new date. Originally scheduled for September 15th, the event has been postponed to September 22nd, 2024 due to the weather forecast.
Hiking enthusiasts and families can look forward to an exciting day in nature. There are two carefully planned hiking routes to choose from, which lead through the picturesque “Elm” forest area. The shorter route, which is approximately 4.5 kilometers long, has been designed specifically for families with small children and is stroller-friendly. This blue route is ideal for a relaxing trip with the whole family. For the more experienced hikers, there is a longer, challenging red route that measures around 9 kilometers and also offers enough incentive for passionate hikers.
Starting point and food
Both hikes begin and end at the Schützenhaus Roggenstein, which is located at Lämersdorf 12, 92648 Roggenstein. In order to make the day even more pleasant, the Kaimling association takes care of the physical well-being of the participants. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., various delicacies are offered at the address opposite Saarweg 31 in 92648 Kaimling, including grilled food and a selection of cakes. This food will certainly help to strengthen the hikers after their exertions.
A special highlight for the little hikers: At the end of the hike, each participating child receives a medal and a certificate that commemorates this special day.
