Traffic opening in Grafenwöhr: B299 renovation is progressing
The road construction work in Grafenwöhr is taking shape and the residents can breathe a sigh of relief. The Amberg-Sulzbach State Building Authority has successfully completed most of the work on resurfacing the B299 through the town. This means that traffic conditions in the region will soon improve.
From Monday, September 9th, 2024, traffic from the Ochsenhut and Wolfgangsiedlung settlements will be able to flow into the city again via Pressather Straße. However, the temporary access road in the Ochsenhut settlement will no longer be accessible from this date. Motorists should prepare for minor traffic disruptions as there is still some remaining work to be done which will require a partial closure.
Continued deck renovation
In parallel to the work on the through-town road, the deck renewal of the B299 is continuing. The section from the Ochsenhut entrance to Pressath will be completely closed from September 9th to October 4th, 2024. This means that the B299 is not passable during this period. The diversion is clearly signposted and leads via Eschenbach to Pressath and back in order to direct traffic safely.
The construction work is part of a comprehensive project to improve road infrastructure in the region. Residents and commuters are asked to adapt to the changes and use signposted diversions to avoid delays. Those responsible hope that the measures will soon lead to a noticeable improvement in the traffic situation.
