The piece is about the publisherPierre Brochant, who shares an extravagant hobby with his friends. Every week they host a “dinner for weirdos”. Each guest brings a carefully selected guest – an absolute dork. The tallest is then crowned “weirdo of the evening” to the amusement of the other guests. With the taxmanFrancois PignonPierre believes he has made a very special stroke of luck. Francois is a passionate matchmaker model maker. But the evening falls through because Pierre has caught lumbago.
Pignon comes to Pierre's house as agreed to pick him up for dinner. The misfortune takes its course. Within a very short time, Pignon destroys Pierre's marriage, fills his apartment with uninvited guests and informs the tax office about Pierre's untaxed assets. Pierre's nerves are strained excessively. So the question ultimately arises: “Who is the real weirdo?”
