Anita Heßler and Thomas Weiß: New faces in the Grafenwöhr town hall

At the last meeting of the Grafenwöhr City Council on September 19, 2024, a significant step was taken in the city's political landscape. After the departure of the second mayor in July, it was time to hold a new election. The 20 voting members of the city council came together to make a decision that demonstrated the solidarity within the body.

The election was a clear commitment to unity: Anita Heßler from the CSU received all 18 valid votes, while two ballot papers were invalid because they remained blank. She was thus elected as the new second mayor of Grafenwöhr and will now hold this important office.

New election of the third mayor

With the election of Heßler, a new election for the third mayor was also necessary, as she previously held this position. In this round, Thomas Weiß, the SPD parliamentary group spokesman, was convincing and received 19 votes. He will now serve as the third mayor of Grafenwöhr.

The meeting took place in a well-attended meeting room, where the two newly elected mayors thanked those present for the trust they had placed in them. They emphasized that they will carry out their new positions with full commitment for the good of the city. The atmosphere was characterized by optimism, and citizens can look forward to seeing what impulses the new incumbents will provide.

These elections are not only a sign of the stability of the city administration, but also an indication that the political actors in Grafenwöhr are ready to work together on the future of the city. The next steps and projects tackled under the leadership of Heßler and Weiß could be crucial for the city's development.
