Neumarkt celebrates friendship: late summer reception in Mistelbach
The city of Neumarkt recently took part in a festive late summer reception in the twin town of Mistelbach in Lower Austria. In bright sunshine and midsummer temperatures, numerous guests gathered on the piazza of the MAMUZ Museum to celebrate this special occasion. Mayor Erich Stubenvoll invited people to this event, which is already a tradition in the region.
As part of the event, four outstanding personalities from Mistelbach were honored for their many years of social commitment. Elisabeth Rausch, Werner Gröger, Heinz Stadlbacher and Erwin Ullreich received the Golden Honorary Coat of Arms of the Mistelbach municipality. This award recognizes the valuable work these individuals have done in the community.
Appreciation of the volunteers
State parliament member Mag. Kurt Hackl, who represented the state governor Mag. Johanna Mikl-Leitner, praised the honorees as “master builders” of urban development. He emphasized that volunteer work is the “solid foundation” on which the city is built. This recognition highlights the importance of volunteerism in society and the role that committed citizens play in shaping their community.
Around 300 guests from various areas, including politics, business and numerous blue light organizations, were present. Representatives from over 200 clubs also took part in the reception. The mayor of Neumarkt, Marco Gmelch, highlighted the town twinning that has been going on for over 40 years and has been characterized by warm connections and mutual understanding since its founding in 1983. This partnership has created many friendships and continues to be actively pursued.
The guests enjoyed a delicious buffet from Heurigen Trestler, Mistelbacher town wine and an entertaining musical program designed by “Father & Sons” around Hubert Koci and his sons Benjamin and Simon. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and those present took the opportunity to exchange ideas and make new contacts.
