FFW Weiding club outing: An unforgettable weekend in Heidelberg

Weiding. Last weekend, the Weiding Volunteer Fire Department went on this year's club trip, which took the participants to Heidelberg. After a long journey of six hours, the group first stopped at the Car and Technology Museum in Sinsheim. An impressive collection of vehicles and technical exhibits awaited them there, which caused great enthusiasm. After dinner together, we continued to Heidelberg, where the travelers checked into the Marriott Hotel.

Heidelberg Castle and Old Town Festival

Saturday began with a visit to Heidelberg Castle, considered one of the most famous ruins in Germany. This impressive complex made of red sandstone towers 80 meters above the Neckar valley and is a striking landmark of the city. The Weidinger group was lucky that the old town festival took place this weekend. Numerous events were held in the picturesque streets of the old town, creating a festive atmosphere. The day was filled with various activities and the participants were able to enjoy the lively atmosphere.

On Sunday there was a boat trip from Heidelberg to Neckarsteinach, which rounded off the trip perfectly. After a short stay in Neckarsteinach, the group began the journey home. Before heading back to Weiding, the travelers enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Hotel Wolfgrinmühle in Fensterbach. The group arrived safely in Weiding at 8 p.m. Chairman Christian Peinkofer warmly thanked all participants and received a lot of positive feedback for the varied program and the smooth process.
