Repair work on the Cham rain bridge: Partial closure of the B22 from October 17th

The Regensburg State Building Authority will be carrying out repair work on the transition structure of the rain bridge near Cham (B22) from Thursday, October 17th until Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at the latest. For the duration of the work, half of the federal highway will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic in the construction site area is guided using traffic lights.

Repair work on the rain bridge

Components such as the transition structure are wear parts on our bridges. These must be regularly maintained and repaired, similar to your own car. In the case of the Cham rain bridge, repair work is now needed on parts of the transition structure. These are necessary to protect the entire structure from excessive wear and tear in the future and to continue to ensure traffic safety for all users.

Traffic management during work

Although the B22 is heavily used in the area of the rain bridge, the work cannot take place without interference with road traffic. In order to achieve the most efficient approach possible, taking into account the work progress and the overall duration of the construction site, the periods of partial closure were optimized accordingly. For example, the aim is to ensure an unhindered flow of traffic during the morning rush hour.

Please understand

The Regensburg State Building Authority asks everyone affected to understand the necessary measures. People who know the area are asked to avoid the affected area as far as possible. Everyone involved is trying to complete the work quickly.
